Sonata for piano solo

This piano sonata consists of three movements played attacca each with a distinctive style or mood culminating in a joyful toccata-like finale. In the post-modern tradition there are some musical quotations from sources as diverse as Chopin, Webern, and the Broadway musical Guys & Dolls.


String Quartet

This string quartet was composed in 2001 and revised 2006. It is based on themes from two Haydn quartets: Op. 33, No. 1 and Op. 64, No. 2. It ranges in style from diatonic minimalism to neo-romanticism to post-modernism.
