This is an arrangement of the beautiful song, The Only Exception, from Paramore’s 2009 album, Brand New Eyes. It attempts to be as faithful as possible to the original recording in terms of both pitch and rhythm while not claiming to be an exact transcription. As a choir director, I frequently perform arrangements of popular music with my students, and we often encounter the problem of discrepancies between what is notated in the score and what is actually heard in the recording. Hopefully, this arrangement will not present that problem. I hope that the altos will enjoy getting to sing so much melody!
